If you want to go play in the snow somewhere within about 90 minutes drive of the Tokyo area, this is a great place. It can be crowded at times, but if you get there early and leave early, it is good. Also, if you want to have a small place to learn to ski or snowboard, this is also good. And lastly, if you just want to go sledding and play in the snow with the family, this is a great choice for a day away from the city.
For sledding, you can do that with a sled rental and lunch for 1,700 yen. If you have your own sled, it is only 1,200 yen. If you just want to enter the park, it is just 600 yen. So not bad at all of a day of fun. Then if you are driving from the Tachikawa area, the tolls will be about 1900 yen each way on the Chuo.
Overall it is not a super large ultra ski resort, but if you just want to go hang out in the snow and maybe begin skiing or snowboarding, then this is a good choice.
